FAQs

Products, sourcing, quotations, delivery, availability, safety and enquiries - answered plainly.

Ordering and quotes

How buying works

How fast will I get a quote?

Quotation timing is confirmed for each requirement, including project and BOQ enquiries. Urgent breakdown enquiries get an availability answer as a priority.

How long is a quotation valid?

Seven days as standard. Cement, steel and metal items carry a shorter validity of 24 to 72 hours because supplier rates move.

Do I need to visit in person?

No. Most enquiries are handled on WhatsApp from a list or a photograph, and delivery or collection is arranged from there. Product viewing can be arranged where the supplier allows it.

Is there a minimum order?

A minimum order value applies to sourced items, below which a handling charge applies or the item is attached to a larger order. The position is confirmed on the quotation.

Do you offer business credit?

Credit is available for approved business accounts within written limits. New business customers start on advance or payment on delivery for the first few orders.

Products and availability

Availability and brands

Do you hold stock of everything listed?

Obra holds no stock of its own. Everything is sourced against supplier-confirmed availability, and each line on a quotation is labelled supplier confirmed, sourced on order or unavailable with a realistic timeline before you confirm.

What if my brand is not available?

We offer the nearest equivalent with the difference in specification, lead time and cost explained. We never substitute silently.

Can I return what I do not use?

Returns depend on the supplier terms for that item, and are stated on the quotation before you confirm. Tinted paints, cut materials, opened chemicals, special-order items and installed electrical goods are generally non-returnable.

Can you supply tinted paint?

Tinted material is sourced through paint suppliers. Obra does not operate a tinting machine. Tinted material generally needs an advance and cannot be returned or exchanged.

Delivery and coverage

Getting material to you

Where do you deliver?

Delivery is arranged by requirement: collection, local delivery, project-site delivery and commercial delivery. Coverage and charges are confirmed on the quotation by location and load.

How is delivery charged?

Delivery is quoted per requirement by location and load, and appears on the quotation before you confirm.

Can you deliver in stages?

Yes, and for project supply it is usually recommended. Material arriving in one load often gets damaged or stolen on site.

Who unloads?

Unloading is the customer's arrangement unless agreed in writing. Tell us the access route and vehicle size limit when you order.

Send your requirement

Share a list, photos or a BOQ file. We check supplier availability, then send a written quote before anything moves.
